This is the Chrysler Thunderbolt, a 1998 First Editions car that is Mint on Card (MOC). The Chrysler Thunderbolt was a four-seat concept car designed by Tom Gale which debuted at the 1993 North American International Auto Show. Intended to be a halo car, the car was based on a lengthened Chrysler LH platform shared with the Concorde, Intrepid, LHS and 300M. The car was fully functional and was powered by an experimental 4.0L 32-valve V8 fed through a 4-speed automatic transmission, and featured a highly advanced infotainment system with a satnav and built-in video games. The real car is currently located at the Walter P. Chrysler museum. A “halo car” is a car that goes out of its way to push the technology, styling, and performance a brand can offer. While this one from Hot Wheels has none of the stuff listed above, it is no less cool! The chopped cab with soft, sweeping lines just makes it a pleasure to own. Last seen in 2003, it has a wonderful 8 variations to its name. While I understand that the card itself will hold some value, the conditions of cards vary, as some cards may have minor shelf wear. Any major damage is described along with a photo. I provide an overall card condition assessment – I do not give collector ratings on cards, as you are technically purchasing the car inside the blister, not the card.
