MSD 8251 Pro Power HVC Ignition Coil For Use w/ 7/8 Series Ignition

MSD 8251 Pro Power HVC Ignition Coil Ignition Coil Coils have always had to compromise voltage output against current output. More voltage increases the initial ionization of the spark plug gap, but lowers the amount of current, or heat, that follows across the plug gap. When a coil is designed to produce more current, the voltage output generally suffers which taxes the ease of ionizing the gap. The MSD HVC coils are designed to produce maximum voltage and energy. To accomplish this combination of high voltage and current MSD uses an e-core winding design. This is a very efficient design where less loss occurs during the transfer of electricity due to the closed core of the coil. Another benefit is that the coils run extremely cool, even at high racing rpm, thanks to the efficient design and huge laminations. Product Note: Pro Power HVC Ignition Coil For Use w/MSD 7/8 Series Ignition If you are looking to upgrade your stock coil, or want to compliment the performance of your MSD Blaster Ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7, the Blaster Coil line is the right choice. All of the Blaster Coils are designed for improved spark output! Special 100:1 windings are used to provide maximum build-up of voltage! These windings are held secure and kept cool in an oil filled metal canister. The tower assembly is molded of durable alkyd material due to its high dielectric characteristics while wide spaced brass primary terminals prevent the possibility of spark. There are several versions of the Blaster Coil available. All of them have the same internal specifications, but have different housings or components. Each Blaster Coil can be used with a stock ignition, Blaster Ignition, MSD 5, 6 or 7 Ignition Control. Most late model vehicles with electronic ignitions do not require a ballast resistor, check your ignition and manufacturers specifications to determine if a ballast is required in your application. Application Notes: Pro Power HVC Ignition Coil; For Use w/MSD 7 or 8 Series Ignition Control; 1mH Inductance; 45000 Max Voltage; 1.1 Amp Peak Current; 10 uS Spark Duration; 85:1 Turns Ratio; Black;
