2014 Chevrolet Corvette Review and Price

Best touring car I have ever owned. It has tons of power and Corvette mystique. It also has the quirks and issues that always come with GM engineering. Go for a long road trip in it and you will realize you have never been so comfortable and never looked forward to tomorrow’s drive so much. The seats snug you in and hold you comfortably for hundreds of mikes without a single complaint from your back. Visibility is much better than you’d think. Climate controls, while not muscular, work well to keep the cabin pleasant. Those engineering quirks include bumps and strange noises until the tires warm up, balky lower gears until the transaxle gets warm and a less than robust upholstery design where the leather tucks into the seat back. Oh, and the engine ate itself at 17000 miles when the dry-sump oil system valving went to sleep. Fortunately GM was quick with a replacement engine and even bought the rental car. Still, I would do it again. Did I mention it’s a Corvette?
The ultimate sports car for me. Z51 with 3LT trim. Auto with paddle shifters makes urban driving practical while still allowing some fun. Surprisingly efficient on a steady drive — near 30 mpg. And handles marvelously. Straight, flat acceleration is fun and requires care, but traveling on curvy country roads is where this car is at its best. Nothing within $30-50K can compare. And it always draws interest whether on the move or parked. Many jealous friends. And after investing in pressure washer and adopting two bucket wash protocol, this car has been a good influence on the rest of my vehicles that now get a little better cleaning!

Car has been great. Excellent acceleration, handling and brakes. Add to that surprisingly good mileage, about 24mpg average of in town and short (usually less than 25 mi interstate runs) and no long trips.
America’s sports car is what this automobile has been called. Never more so deservingly than now. Sure if you want it more horse power is available. But even at the basic price, only a few handful of factory stock manufactured automobiles will out handle this car world wide. And none for this price and build quality for the money.
