2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Review and Price

The new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is longer, roomier and lighter, while remaining extremely capable. Most striking is the exterior design, a more refined interior and a list of equipment that can only be found at GMC. The maximum payload and towing capacity are very good. And the short-body configuration, which is considered the most popular in the segment, is the largest among competitors.

GMC creations are pleasing with refinement and interior space, but the interior design is not the best in class. In addition, the Sierra lacks some of the features available to other pickups, including adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.

The Sierra’s attractive exterior hides a new, longer and lighter platform. The interior has become more spacious and received new, cool options.

With an excellent 4.3-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower, it’s easy to enjoy the ride. The big engine is distinguished by a pleasant, muted rumble and a good margin of power. The powertrain uses the “Dynamic Fuel Management” system to control the operation of the cylinders, but it works so naturally and quietly that its presence is not noticeable. The new 6-speed automatic transmission guarantees speed and smooth operation. In addition, transitions are noticeably accelerated when the car goes into sports mode. The ride quality is very high, and the braking is always predictable and timely. The new GMC is even quieter. The Sierra controls are very well placed and easy to use.

Another advantage is the internal space, which can comfortably accommodate all passengers in the back. In general, the characteristics of the GMC Sierra will satisfy both those who want to get a workhorse, and those who primarily appreciate comfort and high quality.

The new GMC pickup is the only representative of the class with which you can count on the innovative “MultiPro” trunk, which has six configurations for easier loading and unloading. Lifting and lowering of doors is controlled by a key chain.

Starting with the camera that observes a tow bar when attaching a trailer and additional cameras that monitor the area behind the trailer while in motion, to monitoring tire pressure of trailer modern Sierra has received a lot of list of equipment for towing.

Attractive and high-quality interior of the car has pleasant to the touch surfaces and good placement of elements. The bonus of a spacious and quiet interior will be a projection dashboard on the windscreen. The seats are comfortable. There are reasonable storage compartments in front of the rear seats. For the first time, push-button ignition was introduced, but other than it is more than the steering wheel, which is adjusted by the angle and departure, there is nothing to count on.

The base Sierra model comes with a 4.3-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The interior has a 7.0-inch screen. Bluetooth, a single USB port, and electric windows and door locks became standard. Cruise control is an option, but every GMC Sierra has received a “Teen Driver” safety kit. Among other things, the model has corner steps on the rear bumper and 12 fasteners.

CONS
  • Maybe I should have bought a 5 seat model.

  1. I love this truck! I got the Sierra AT4 with tons of accessories and the big 6.2 l engine. So worth it! Drives like a dream!
