The Chrysler Corporation, founded in 1925, expanded in 1928, establishing Plymouth and DeSoto brands, they also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names. The DeSoto was Chryslers mid priced car, the Desoto name was used from 1929-1960. This, the first year of the Desoto, is the lightweight Model K De Soto Six, it was available in; 2 door Coupe; 2 passenger Business, or 4 passenger Deluxe. 4 door Sedan; Standard or Deluxe 2 door Roadster or 4 door Phaeton The De Soto Six had such a successful introduction that it was carried on into the 1930 model year with virtually no change; the 1930 Desoto Six CK.
