Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon: Overview, Updates and Pricing
Axes, bayonets, common sense, and station wagons are all hard to come by these days. While the station wagon market is niche in the US, we’re excited to learn that the wagon version of the mid-size E-Class sedan is likely to follow its four-door sibling into a new generation. While Mercedes-Benz has not officially announced that the E-Class wagon is returning, the company has filed paperwork with the EPA, signaling that it may be on its way.
Even with no official announcement, hopes are high for another thrilling season of the 603-hp AMG E63 wagon that Mercedes-Benz has offered in past years. Beyond that, pricing, powertrain, and whether the new wagon will retain its iconic third row of seating are all topics that are closely guarded by Mercedes.
What we do know so far is that the all-new E-Class wagon will debut alongside its sedan counterpart, and it’s set to feature more technology and luxury than its previous generation. Expect to see a full revision inside and out, with powertrains borrowed from the sedan, including the 375-hp 3.0-liter inline-six hybrid. As we learn more about the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon throughout the year, we’ll update this space with additional details.
Obviously, there are no pricing details yet for the Mercedes-Benz wagon, but we expect the new generation and its vast makeover to reflect in the starting price for the niche car. We think Mercedes will continue to offer the E450 in All-Terrain guise only, meaning that there won’t be a non-cladded version unless they decide to go all-in with a high-horsepower AMG E63 model.
