Great I’m posting my 96′ F150 XLT (9th gen), with the beloved 4.9 straight six and a 5-speed manual. The truck currently has 122k miles. I have owned the truck for about four years, and it has been a trustworthy daily in every condition! The truck has been loved and maintained more than appropriately. It was my daily throughout covid but has gone from daily, to weekend warrior and I dont have much parking space with the other toys.

First the good stuff- basically everything. The truck starts , stops, shifts, and runs strong through all gears. The truck looks fantastic at 25 years old, and also doesn’t need to be inspected since it is a classic! At 122k miles on the straight six, this is still pretty low milage for these trucks. Everything mechanically and electrically works as it should. Interior looks good, truck was repainted red again and underneath was coated by previous owner so rust isnt bad for 25 and the paint looks better than youd expect. 4×4 works well and the truck eats up snow! Airbag seats still work too, so it’s comfortable with a front bench seat and fold up center console.

The bad:
The truck is still 25 years old, even with upgraded paint and undercoating the truck has some minor rust spots like inside the doorwell pitting. But no frame rust, and no real exposed body rust. The dashboard on the passenger side has a crack in it from being in the dry sun. The only mechanical issues come from the instrument cluster, the gas gauge doesn’t because the rear tank was removed, and the battery icon stays on because of the push-to-start but causes no issues.
