2019 Ford Ranger XLT Review and Price

My review will be on Ford Ranger XLT 2019. I have got it in the end of 2019.
Ford manufacturers clearly listened to customers creating this Ford Ranger. The car is well thought out in contrast to the past Rangers.

As soon as you get behind the wheel the first impression is that the engine is only 2.3 liters but the horsepower is 270 HP. This truck is more aimed at the ability to pull 3.5 tons on a trailer and to load more than 700 tons in the trunk, 26 miles per gallon on the highway. The truck easily drags a large trailer along the highway, it has enough revs.

It has all-wheel drive 4×4 configuration, no need to stop and switch to neutral.
There is a Wi-Fi access point here, the car has a SIM card, which allows you to use more advanced things. The multimedia system has been improved. Android works perfectly constantly offering tips on how and where to run. There are no problems with syncing the port. The truck has a lot of outlets for every taste. The convenience is that the radio can operate at a distance of 15 meters. You can already add something to the system and choose something for yourself. Everything syncs perfectly.

If we talk about technology we get not only blind spot indicators but a rearview camera, parking sensors, lane monitoring system, emergency braking system, laser cruise. Everything is optional. A unique feature of the blind spot indication is that it is built into the rear lights. What it gives? The truck sees the blind spot not only of the car but also of the trailer which greatly simplifies life if you pull something dimensional.
There are some pros and cons to electronics. Ford pus it all together and called it the 360 assistant pilot. When you look at other manufacturers they have something similar to an autonomous car. In this Ford this assistant is not exactly the same but marketing.
If you are ready to spend on a mid-size pickup from $31,000.00 you will get the latest audio system with good sound, 6 wheel options, 6 configuration options, a lot of colors, for every taste and budget.
Due to its load capacity you get a soft suspension. Driving on a hilly road it seems that the suspension should stop jumping up and down on each hole. As soon as you put something in the back of the trailer the truck floats gently, smoothly, like an ultra-expensive sedan.

What is missing is the presence of a step to easily climb into the trunk. This is not the most expensive pickup but I would like to have a step in smaller pickups.
I would like to note an interesting detail that Ford is now using a lot of aluminum in the entire car in order to reduce the cost of the pickup. The front bumper and hooks are made of the strongest possible steel. The details are thought out before the car is released on the market.

In the cabin all the technologies, interesting solutions, fairly simple materials are presented well, but you should look at the roof and see that the pocket for glasses does not open well, the lights look like from a Ford of the nineties.

2019 Ford Ranger XLT

I believe that you can not do the salon only at eye level, you need to look sometimes at the ceiling also. In General the pickup is good, I am not disappointed by it.

PROS
  • Ford did a great job.
  • Love the new Ranger.
  • Almost 2k miles on it, and it's a keeper.
CONS
  • The engine air intake (up above the radiator) needs screening w/ 1/2" or 3/8" galvanized screen.
  • The cabin air intake at the firewall needs it as well to keep critters out of the vent.
