2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS Review

Best all around city – 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS , highway and country road driver ever!! Quiet, exceptional ride, exceptional handling, exceptional in negotiating tight city spaces (rear wheel steering!!!). Did I mention acceleration – impressive, especially for a 3 ton car. Not a race course car, but much better in non-race course driving – better overall than my E550 Cabriolet (no slouch), and faster. Much less costly to refuel (recharge) than a gas guzzler – around $5-7 per charge. Range on an 80% charge is 340 miles +. Range on a 100% charge is 450+.

I have owned Mercedes-Benz for over a decade, having every model they make. I was very anxious to get the eqs 450 Plus at the end of 2021, a 2022 model. It was in for a recall every month, the brakes were horrible, and the tires were the utmost worse. It is hard to believe that Mercedes as a manufacturer put such poor quality rubber, on such an expensive car. I sold it after 5 months. When the screen went totally down, and you were literally blind because everything worked on cameras. The dealer was reputable, but really didn’t know what to fix. I further went with a Mercedes eqb and again taking a car designed for an ice engine, and making it into an EV, what’s the poor way to approach the EV market. It doesn’t did not even have power seats, only a backup camera, and regenerative braking was questionable. After owning 23 Mercedes-Benz, I left the eqb after 5 months and went with a Volvo c40 recharge, basically the same price range. A world of difference. Mercedes should get their act together as a high-end manufacturer and maybe take the lead from Volvo as they come up with their ex 30 and ex 90 next year. I don’t know why they have been such a big failure so far but they may redeem themselves in the future.
