I’ve only owned my car for two weeks! So if anything changes I’ll try to remember to come back and revise my review. But so far this car is a really nice little car if you’re not looking for too many bells and whistles but just need a comfortable, fuel efficient, ride. Due to recent injuries I sustained, I needed a vehicle with a back-up camera and blindspot monitor, both of which the Elantra SEL has as standard features.
Those features have really come in handy and provide me and my loved ones with peace of mind when I’m driving and may not be able to see what’s coming up behind me in the adjacent lanes – or from a parked standpoint – whats behind me when backing up. I have a little more freedom now that I can depend on my car to help me out with these situations and I no longer have to depend on others to drive me around.
I also drive 75 miles each day just to get to work and back home so the fuel efficiency in this vehicle is really great. I can get over 40 MPG on HWY with this vehicle. Its a really smooth ride, not jerky at all (at least so far) and accelerates pretty quickly – like 8 seconds from 0 to 60. I like the Bluetooth features of how the car will automatically connect with my ipod or cell phone to show google maps or my iTunes up on the screen.
The map features has come in handy already when driving in an unfamiliar city – it was much easier to have the maps and directions up on the screen in the car rather than having to continuously look at my phone. Overall I am very pleased with this vehicle and I would recommend it to others who are looking for a dependable, fuel efficient vehicle.
