2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV LT Review and Price

Love this car. I bought it in Oregon when switching to full electric after my gas powered vehicle finally died — never going back! The range on this is accurate and huge.

I am able to go nearly 300mi under best conditions, and ~150mi on worst (defrosters on and driving up mountains). Also, price of this EV is best in class, and a solid 10k less than the similar model Tesla. Engine is made in S. Korea, and well manufactured/engineered.

Interior is not as cheap as YouTube might tell you, and the DC charging is great, if you can find an SAE J1773 Combo DCFC in your area. AC charging can take a while, even on a Level 2 charger (~8 hours), but that’s because of the big battery. Interior also makes it feel like a “real car,” instead of a confusing modern design.

If you can get past the fact that a Tesla is ‘cooler,’ this is 95% of the car for 75% of the price. It is well made, surprisingly roomy, has great tech, is zippy but stable on the highway, and has enough range to get me wherever I go. The DC Fast charging network is becoming built up on major corridors (I-95 on the east coast) and I have not run into any issues where I was worried about range.

I hope that the Bolt points to the future that GM is going.
